Rest in Peace, Leo Frare


It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our friend and founder of RLCWALC, Leo Frare, who died in his home on February 4, 2015.

From his beginnings as a young man with the John Birch Society to his more recent efforts on the Ron Paul Presidential Campaign, Lewis County Tea Party and the Republican Liberty Caucus of Lewis County, Leo has been a staunch champion for liberty—in many respects he was the heart & soul of the liberty movement in Lewis County. He had a knack for seeing when we were on the wrong side of history and the courage to stand up and fight for it. He was a constitutional scholar, he was anonymous, he was occupy, he was the 99% and the 1%, a horticulturist, wine maker and brew master extraordinaire; he was a husband, a father, and a friend.

Leo’s absence will be deeply felt as we struggle to pick up the banner of liberty that he carried so boldly. But carry on we will, and it is our sincere hope that this tragic event will bring the liberty community closer together. Let us not allow Leo’s lifetime of dedication and sacrifice to the cause we all hold dear be in vain.

On Thursday, March 6, Lewis County Tea Party will feature guest speaker Wendy Birnbaum. Wendy will be speaking on her first-hand experience with the erosion of property rights here in Washington, as well as sharing what she has learned about how anti-liberty legislation such as the Growth Management Act and Agenda 21 are slipped in under our noses.

Our monthly Liberty on the Rocks meeting is coming up this Friday, February 21. LotR is an informal gathering following the American tradition of meeting in taverns to rant and rave about the issues of the day, particularly those infringing on our individual liberties.
